Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host the Basque side in domestic competition two and a half years since relocating so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Barcelona held an open training session at the Camp Nou earlier this month. Officials stated they are seeking authorization from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side next month at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
